My 2nd Blowout and attempted flatiron experience❤

I've coined a new term if it hasn't already been used called a "flat-out" this simply means when flatironed natural hair turns into a blowout.lol that's what happened to me midway. So I deep conditioned on dry hair, cowashed my hair the day before and let it airdry overnight. In the morning I let it dry some more and applied my jbco, then later that night which is last night I blew it out by sections, I applied a heat protection Creme before and after. Then I proceeded to flatiron my hair. Midway my hair reverted back to a blowout, I was upset but happy at how much my hair has grown. I will definitely try again next time. With a better flatiron, smoothing cream, more snacks, my tea and music.

My 2013 Favorite Natural Hair Products

After searching and through trial and error I'm so happy I have found the right products for my hair. I will be adding more to this list as the year progresses.

1. For prepoos, detangles great and get my hair ready for co-washing/shampooing later sometimes I add honey and evoo.
2. For bi-weekly deep conditioning hair treats I've been using this, and my hair loves it so much, I apply it on dry/wet hair, it detangles very well, and of course smells heavenly. I use it bi-weekly because I co-wash weekly. I use this when I shampoo my hair, and also because its expensive too.
3.Whenever I'm wearing a slick down look, or just my edges I use this with a leave-in before I apply it, I use to use the yellow/blue but I prefer now a stronger hold so I'm using this and I also like that it has olive oil in it too.
4. For my weekly scalp, growing my hair edges back in since postpartum hair shedding I've been a faith user of this.
5. When I'm doing twist-outs, braid out, I use this.
6. Daily Spritzing and Refreshing I use this with water, withand evco.
7. Light moisturizing and styling I use this, my hair loves it:-)
8. For my weekly co-washes I use this, it gives a great slip allowing me to detangle with my fingers
9. For sealing my ends and also braid-outs I've been using this for over a year now:-)
10. When I shampoo my hair I use this, it smells so good and detangles very good
11. And finally for my light protein treatments I use this, this stuff is the truth. And yes it has sulfates but Im not sulfate sensitive.
12. For detangling I use this or
I will update more favorites throughout the year but so far this are my must-haves

As I am Coconut Cowash Cleansing Conditioner Success!

Last night, I tried the As I am coconut Cowash cleansing conditioner and it was a success! The first time I tried it two weeks ago I rushed through it and decided to retry it again just to give my honest review. Well, let me tell you how happy I was. I took time to rinse my hair with warm water first before applying the Cowash. I used 6 sections instead of 4 sections, and as I applied it I finger detangled it then two strand twisted it. Once I was done I rinsed my hair and kept the twist in since I already detangled it. My hair was very soft and smell was good. I let it airdry overnight, and here is a picture below

Clarifying my Natural Hair

Last night I clarified my hair with apple cider vinegar and today my scalp feels so refreshed and clean. I'm the type of naturalista that loves hair oils, butters and moisturizers and over a period of times it can cause a buildup on my scalp and hair. I feel it's necessary to clarify with apple cider vinegar for the following reasons: it purifies my scalp removing all the product buildup, it returns my scalp to its nAtural ph level, helps restore my hair giving it a nice shine, and helps my hair to absorb my next application of my hair products. Back to last night, I didn't have to add water because my apple cider vinegar was already diluted with water. I put it in a spray bottle and massaged it into my scalp with my fingers not my nails. After saturating my hair and scalp with the apple cider vinegar I got in the shower rinsed my hair and cowashed. I didn't apply any product to let my hair and scalp be free of products. Now today my hair is soft and fluffy. I plan on moisturizing and sealing my hair at night.
